Moto3 in Jerez: Brad Binder mit sensationellem ersten Sieg
Der Südafrikaner Brad Binder hat das Moto3-Rennen in Jerez spektakulär für sich entschieden, nachdem er aufgrund einer Strafe vom letzten Startplatz aus losgefahren war.

Davon ließ sich der KTM-Fahrer jedoch nicht beeindrucken: Schon in der ersten Runde überholte Binder 14 Konkurrenten (!) und tauchte bereits nach drei Runden in den Punkterängen auf. Nach weiteren sechs Umläufen lag Binder an vierter Stelle, in Runde 18 holte er sich die Führung. Und danach gab es kein Halten mehr für ihn.
„Ich wusste, dass ich es trotz allem schaffen könnte“, sagte Binder nach der Zieldurchfahrt. „Aber den ersten Sieg in dieser Klasse vom letzten Startplatz aus zu erzielen, ist einfach unglaublich.“
Interessant ist auch: Binder ist der erste südafrikanische Rennsieger seit über 30 Jahren. Er fuhr in Jerez vor den beiden Italienern Nicolo Bulega (KTM) und Francesco Bagnaia (Mahindra) über die Linie. Philipp Öttl aus Deutschland erzielte mit KTM den zehnten Platz unter 36 Piloten.
