Am Wochenende des Aragon-GP hat die MotoGP die provisorischen Teilnehmerlisten 2019 für alle drei Klassen (MotoGP, Moto2 und Moto3) veröffentlicht. In der MotoGP schrumpft das Teilnehmerfeld erwartungsgemäß von 24 auf 22 Plätze. Das Marc-VDS-Team wird im kommenden Jahr nicht mehr in der Königsklasse an den Start gehen. Die zwei Startplätze werden vorläufig nicht anderweitig vergeben.
Das neue Petronas-Yamaha-Team übernimmt die beiden Plätze des bisherigen Ducati-Kundenteams Angel Nieto. Mit insgesamt sechs Motorrädern werden die Italiener aber trotzdem auch 2019 wieder die meisten Bikes in der Königsklasse stellen. Dazu kommen vier Hondas, vier Yamahas, vier KTMs und je zwei Suzukis und Aprilias, die ohne Kundenteam an den Start gehen.
In der Moto2 bleibt es bei 32 Startplätzen. Zwar zieht sich das Marinelli-Snipers-Team um Skandal-Pilot Romano Fenati aus der mittleren Klasse zurück, dafür kehrt Angel Nieto zurück. In der Moto3 bleibt es bei den gleichen 16 Teams, die auch 2018 am Start sind. Die Teilnehmerzahl steigt jedoch von 28 auf 29, weil das Marinelli-Snipers-Team hier von einem auf zwei Motorräder aufstockt.
